Installation instruction:
1. Locate a place on craft to fasten SwitchGlo.
2. Dedicate an unused channel on your receiver and plug in the SwitchGlo receiver cable.
3. Assign a switch on your transmitter to the same SwitchGlo receiver channel.
4. Install the SwitchGlo's ground cable (black) to the engine
ground preferably back plate (do not attached to carbon frame)
5. Install the SwitchGlo's glow plug cable (red) to the glow plug.
6. Open up your radio's ATV settings as wide as possible to prevent
SwitchGlo from triggering prematurely.
Once SwitchGlo is installed securely in the craft, it is
maintenance free. No need to re-charge separate batteries as SwitchGlo runs on for main on-board battery.
Now you are ready to GLOW!

Optional GV-1 Governor installation: For those without a dedicated RX channel (DX7
users):
Plug the SwitchGlo in the the GV-1 mixture port.
It is an open slot in the GV-1.
Now set the mixture points 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9.
Go to the mixture screen, looks like (M1-----0% or M9----100%, M# and %
change with throttle stick position). You need to set all values above 60%
where you want it NOT activate. When it is below 50% it will intermittently
arm the glo driver. I set M1 as low as I could, then set M2,3,4,5 above
60%. With this setting the SwitchGlo will
only arm when the
throttle stick is down 1/4 or below. To reset it, just bump the stick
up/down. Good safety measure as well. Might be a good set up for all
helis.
Optional Y Harness installation:
For those without a dedicated RX channel or
GV-1 (DX7
users):
Use a basic Y harness. Plug into the gear channel on the receiver. Then plug
the Gyro gain into the Y harness and the SwitchGlo plug into the other side
of the Y. This allows you to switch the SwitchGlo on and off with the gear
switch. The SwitchGlo does turn on when RX is switched on. After the Gyro
has initialized then you can switch the gear switch to the downward
position. If you wish to not have the SwitchGlo active when the RX is
powered up you can put a simple servo reverser direct in line with the
SwitchGlo. This allows the RX to power up without activating the SwitchGlo.
Then to power it up you flip the gear switch which will also take the heli
out of AVCS mode. This function can be used in flight for autos and so forth
but it does take the gyro out of AVCS mode.

SwitchGlo Operation
Power on your craft and
radio. Flip your assigned SwitchGlo transmitter switch to ignite glow plug. When you hear the audible alert, your glow plug is glowing.
SwitchGlo can be switched ON/OFF at will. If
you forget to flip the switch back, SwitchGlo has a built in safeguard to
automatically shut off in ten seconds. You can then re-ignite the glow plug by
re-cycling your switch.
If you flip ON and do not hear the audible alert, your glow plug is spent.
Engine choking? Flip
transmitter switch ON to recover optimum idle.
Craft lost? Flip
transmitter switch to activate the audible alert and find your craft.

Eliminate "HOT STARTS" by disabling your
SwitchGlo switch on idle-up.
A Simple Method of Programming 12Z/14MZ/12FG
* Assign Aux 1 to Ch 12 under Function and assign Switch F to control it
* Separate AFR settings for Ch 12 - Aux 1 (Single instead of Group)for each
mode, i.e., Normal, ID1, ID2, & TH
* In Idle Up conditions, set AFR rates to 0% & the Offset to 100%
* Use Servo Monitor to check direction of offset on Ch 12, if direction is
opposite, reverse AFR offsets to -100%
"By using two programmable mixes (both mixing throttle to Aux 1)
linked to switch F, one on in one position of the switch & the other in the
other position, and using a "Line" curve for the on position, you can adjust the
off/on position of the SwitchGlo by moving two points on the mixing Line curve.
I set mine up to allow the SwitchGlo to be activated at 5% throttle or less. For
throttle positions -90% and less (less than 5% overall throttle), set the rate
to -100%. I then used a point at -89.5% that was set to a rate of +100%. At any
throttle settings greater than -89.5%, the rate of +100% effectively disables
the SwitchGlo from activation. For the "off" position of switch F, use the
"Linear" curve, set the rates to 0% and the offset to 100%. This effectively
shuts the SwitchGlo off when switch F is in the off position. The only other
thing that I had to do was set the end point limits on Aux 1 to 100% because
under certain conditions the servo monitor indicated that Aux 1 went to 135%.
I'm still not certain why. It works great & it's now impossible to hot start."
