Engineering
SwitchGlo
is designed by Compudraft Engineering, the same engineering firm to provide
circuit design for projects within the
Space Shuttle,
Mars Probe, AH-1Z Cobra Helicopter, B1 Bomber, and numerous other
military, commercial, and medical applications.
The SwitchGlo circuit has 24
surface mount components including an anti-interference circuit effectively
eliminating any and all servo chatter caused by igniting the glow plug.
SwitchGlo utilizes a programmable microcontroller enabling a our custom
source code to control the glow efficiency as well as control other key
features.
Pre-Production Testing
SwitchGlo beta units were given to 30 R/C
Helicopter, Airplane, and Truck enthusiasts and professionals. We estimate
a pre-production SwitchGlo usage time of 360 flight hours. During this
time, we collected surveys from each beta tester, providing us with detailed
opinions of product perception, performance, features, size, weight, and
price. The survey responses exceeded our expectation. All beta testers were
extremely happy with SwitchGlo in all respects except size and weight. In our
final production design, we reduced both size and weight by half. The same beta
units are still in use and performing very well.
